- Manganese (Mn) content of less than 2.00 per cent
- Phosphorus (P) content of less than 0.045 per cent
- Sulphur (S) content of less than 0.030 per cent
- Silicon (Si) content of less than 1.00 per cent
- Chromium (Cr) content between 16.0 and 18.0 per cent
- Nickel (Ni) content between 8.0 and 11.0 per cent.

2. Ferritic stainless steel (e.g. 409, 430):
- Carbon (C) content of less than 0.12 per cent
- Manganese (Mn) content of less than 1.00 per cent
- Phosphorus (P) content of less than 0.040 per cent
- Sulphur (S) content of less than 0.030 per cent
- Silicon (Si) content of less than 1.00 per cent
- Chromium (Cr) content between 10.5 and 30.0 per cent.

3. Duplex Stainless Steel (e.g. 2205, 2507):
- Carbon (C) content below 0.030 per cent
- Manganese (Mn) content below 2.00 per cent- Phosphorus (P) less than 0.030 per cent
- Sulphur (S) less than 0.020 per cent
- Silicon (Si) content of less than 1.00 per cent
- Chromium (Cr) content between 21.0 and 23.0 per cent
- Nickel (Ni) content between 4.5 and 6.5 per cent
- Molybdenum (Mo) content between 2.5-3.5 per cent
