ASTM A513 Alloy Seamless Steel Pipes, also known as Alloy Steel Pipes, comply with ASTM A513/A513M (Standard for Precision Tubes for Mechanical Structures) and are accepted in conjunction with the ASTM A106/A335 standard for seamless Alloy Steel Material. Featuring carbon-manganese/ chromium -molybdenum/niobium-vanadium microalloyed designs, featuring seamless forming, uniform wall thickness, extremely high dimensional accuracy, and excellent cold working and weldability. They are specifically designed for industrial applications—such as automotive manufacturing, construction machinery, hydraulic systems, mechanical transmissions, and structural frames—that demand both precision and strength. Unlike ordinary welded pipes and low-carbon steel pipes, these pipes balance lightweight construction with long-term stability, thereby reducing equipment assembly and maintenance costs.
alloy grades: 4130 (chromium-molybdenum), 1026 (carbon-manganese), 5160 (chromium-vanadium); UNS K03006 (typical 4130), UNS G10260; Custom alloy compositions available based on customer operating conditions

1. Microalloying/Chromium-Molybdenum Reinforcement: The 4130 chromium-molybdenum alloy forms dispersed carbides, significantly enhancing strength and hardenability. Type 5 offers over 60% higher strength than standard carbon steel while maintaining excellent toughness;
2. Low-Carbon Precision Design: Precise control of carbon content prevents cold-working cracks. Excellent TIG/MIG/SAW weldability; only preheating (for walls >25 mm) and slow cooling after welding are required, eliminating the need for complex heat treatment;
3. Multiple strength grades available: Ranging from standard carbon-manganese to high-chromium-molybdenum, with tensile strengths spanning 550–950 MPa;
4. Controllable low-temperature toughness: Charpy V-notch impact energy ≥27 J at -20°C and ≥20 J at -40°C, suitable for outdoor equipment in cold regions;
5. Precautions (embedded): It is strictly prohibited to substitute Type 1 (low-carbon standard grade) for Type 5 (alloy high-strength grade) in high-pressure hydraulic and heavy-duty transmission applications; when welding alloy tubes, heat input must be strictly controlled to prevent grain coarsening in the heat-affected zone, which can lead to embrittlement.
- Seamless Tube Process: Hot-rolled piercing + multi-pass cold drawing/cold rolling finishing; seamless construction; wall thickness tolerance controlled within ±3% (±1% for precision grade); outer diameter tolerance of ±0.02 mm; far superior to standard industrial tubes, suitable for machining with zero-allowance assembly;
- Heat Treatment: Bright Annealing (BA), Normalizing + Tempering, Quenching and Tempering (Q&T), and Controlled Rolling (TMCP); Type 5 alloy tubes are recommended to undergo Q&T treatment to achieve the optimal balance of strength and toughness;
- Important Note (Embedded): Stress relief annealing (held at 620–650°C) must be performed after cold drawing to eliminate residual stresses and prevent deformation or cracking during subsequent machining or assembly;
- Surface Treatment: Industrial acid pickling and passivation, sandblasting, phosphating (to improve paint adhesion), blackening, hot-dip galvanizing, epoxy coating; For precision machinery applications, electropolishing (EP) and bright annealing (BA) are optional, with a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 0.4 μm;
- Non-destructive testing and dimensional inspection: 100% ultrasonic testing (UT), eddy current testing (ET), and hydrostatic testing (≥1.5 times nominal pressure); 100% in-line laser diameter/wall thickness measurement with dimensional reports; Magnetic particle testing (MT) for surface cracks (applicable to alloy carbon steel);
-Important Note (Embedded): Tubing for precision hydraulic systems must undergo 100% UT+ET dual inspection; omitting this is strictly prohibited.
- Precision hydraulic cylinders/piston rods: Prefer A513 Type 5 + 4130 alloy + quenched and tempered + precision-grade tolerances + BA/EP finish;
- Heavy-duty mechanical structures/transmissions: Type 5 4130 or 5160 chromium-vanadium alloy, quenched and tempered;
- Ambient temperature, low to medium pressure, cost-priority: Type 2/3 carbon-manganese alloy, bright annealed;
- Highly corrosive environments (seawater/chemical): Bare alloy pipes are not recommended; options include 316 Stainless Steel pipes, or A513 alloy pipes with 3PE or epoxy coating;
- Welding thick-walled alloy pipes (wall thickness > 20 mm): Must be preheated to 120–150°C, held at temperature after welding for controlled cooling, and post-weld heat treatment performed if necessary to prevent cold cracks.

- Quality Assurance: We provide complete Material Test Reports (MTRs), spectroscopic analysis reports, and records of ultrasonic testing (UT), hydrostatic testing, and dimensional inspections for every batch to ensure no non-conforming products leave the factory;
